Santosh Singh
Shri Santosh Singh, a prominent figure in Uttar Pradesh politics, was born in 1970 into a distinguished Kshatriya family in Manjharia Ganga (Deoria Ganga), a serene village located in Khalilabad, Sant Kabir Nagar district. His father, Shri Ram Kinkar Singh, was a respected government teacher, revered as a scholar and an influential personality in the region. Unfortunately, he lost his mother, Smt. Manki Devi, during childhood, a tragedy that shaped his emotional strength and sense of responsibility from an early age.
Santosh Singh’s primary education began at the village school established by his father, where discipline and values were deeply ingrained in his upbringing. He later moved on to complete his high school and intermediate education from Government Inter College, Basti. In 1988, he joined Lucknow University, where Santosh Singh pursued Ancient Indian History and obtained both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Santosh Singh’s academic background enriched his understanding of India’s cultural, civilizational, and political heritage.It was during his university years that Santosh Singh began his tryst with public life. Santosh Singh became actively associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organization known for nurturing leadership rooted in nationalism and service.
Owing to his leadership qualities and unwavering dedication, Santosh Singh was elected as the General Secretary of the Lucknow University Students’ Union in 1995-96, and later as its President in 1998-99 — winning both elections with record-breaking votes.Santosh Singh’s tenure was marked by notable contributions, including the establishment of Bhaurao Deoras Dwar, symbolizing a strong cultural ethos and pride.
As a Swayamsevak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Shri Singh’s ideological foundation is built on selfless service, national pride, and disciplined leadership. Santosh Singh’s journey from student politics to holding high offices in the Bharatiya Janata Party reflects his deep commitment to public service and the ideals of the party.
